Indiana Statewide appreciates our relationship with Senator Merritt

Indiana Statewide’s Government Relations team joined Senator Jim Merritt for a breakfast fundraiser at the Capitol Grille in downtown Indianapolis. Senator Merritt sits as Majority Caucus Chair and Chairman of the Utilities & Technology Committee in the Senate. Our GR team was joined by Hendricks Power Cooperative CEO, Donnis Mizelle and Wabash Valley VP of Business Development, Greg Wagoner. Indiana Statewide appreciates our relationship with Senator Merritt and commends the Senator for always being willing to listen to the concerns and issues facing the rural electric community.

RELITE Orientation

Friday March 30th - we had our 2012 RELITE orientation; we had the privilege of welcoming 14 new members to RELITE for the upcoming year. During the day we heard about the history of RELITE from Susan Cowan, WVPA. As one of the original RELITE participants Susan was able to provide us with a very personal history of the program from its conception to present. Susan ensured us that the connections we make with each other in RELITE will withstand the test of time and we need to make the most of our time in the program together.

After Susan’s history of RELITE we thought it would be important to hear from a CEO on why they felt RELITE was an important program. Rob Pearson, the CEO of Wabash County REMC and United REMC, provided us with a very direct and poignant perspective on RELITE and the importance of developing our cooperative family. Rob did a great job of relaying the importance each and every person in a cooperative plays in ensuring our members are satisfied with their service.

In the afternoon we gave the participants an overview of our upcoming RELITE retreats. We are looking forward to a very successful year of RELITE with more information to come in April.
